Thank you 6th and 7th batches for the appreciation letter in which you pledge to be 'more useful and helpful to yourselves, your communities and the nation at large by being job creators and not job seekers to face the challenges of a fast moving world.

1st Congress of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs)

The 1st Congress of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs)Organised by the Integrated Health for All Foundation (IHAF), Cameroon on the theme: “Promoting Networking, Good Governance, Transparency and Accountability amongst CSOs in Cameroon”.

Promoting networking, good governance/democracy, transparency and accountability for a united voice aiming at eradicating corruption amongst CSOs and influencing policy in Cameroon cannot be over emphasized.

Major weaknesses of civil society include: absence of a pilot centre (such as Civil Society Centre for National and International Cooperation’s (CSCNIC-ihafcam)) to coordinate activities of CSOs; inadequate networking, transparency and accountability; and the common-place corruption especially association/NGOs. Taking advantage of the situation, many CSOs rather exploit citizens/communities for selfish reasons; embezzle funds intended for vital purposes; while many others are “ghost” organisations.

Hence, realization of this platform by the “watch-dog-structure” (CSCNIC-ihafcam) will bring CSOs / citizens together to share information, lay down resolutions to fight against “ghost” CSOs and corruption. Also, the forum shall build capacities of CSOs to advocate on transparency, accountability and networking, and adopt inputs that could be suggested to government ministers to encourage and introduce / influence certain policy and strengthen partnership between government and civil society in Cameroon.

Join us now and improve our strategies!!!
